Saheliyon ki Bari

Saheliyon ki Bari is one of the major tourist attraction of Udaipur. This garden is widely popular for its greenery, marble art and fountains. It is so beautiful that the romantic ambience of the park takes over once you enter the garden.

History of Saheliyon ki Bari

Saheliyon ki Bari is also known as ‘Garden of Maids’. This particular garden was created for the royal ladies. Maharana Sangram Singh built it for his queen and her 48 maids. These maids accompanied his queen as a wedding dowry. All the royal ladies used to spend their time in the garden for their amusement, entertainment and pleasure. The water fountain flowing in the middle of the garden is its main attraction.

Saheliyon ki Bari is located on Saheli Marg and surrounded by flora and fauna. This garden is ingrained with marble art and fountains, lotus pools, green lawns and artwork. There is a museum inside the garden that is famous for its collection of royal households and stuffed animals. Another enticement of the royal garden is ‘Rain Fountain’ that was built by Maharana Bhopal Singh with the purpose of recreating garden. The pavilion of the garden is beautifully carved from marble and the entire place is surrounded by greenery.

Sukhadia Circle Fountain

Sukhadia Circle Fountain is placed right outside of Saheliyon ki Bari. Set a foot out of the Saheliyon ki Bari and you will reach Sukhadia Circle. This particular place is an entertaining spot of Udaipur. There is a stunning three-tiered, 21 ft long water fountain flowing in the middle of the garden. This fountain is surrounded by a garden and paddle boats that are the reason why people visit Sukhadia Circle Fountain more than other places.

This garden is located 4 km away from Saheliyon ki Bari. It is another tourist place famous for its surroundings and the huge library. Along with these place, you can also explore Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal, Udaipur Solar Observatory, Bara Palace, Dudh Talai, Jagdish temple etc. They all are found in the same region.

Best time to visit Saheliyon ki Bari and Sukhadia Circle Fountain:

Both the places have different visiting time but you can cover them in one time by visiting Saheliyon ki Bari before Sukhadia Circle Fountain. However, Monsoon and late summer evenings are considered the best time for these two places.

Visiting time- 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (open on all days)

Sukhadia Circle Fountain:

No entry fee
